What Story Is That,Charlie?

The return. I’m struck by the title The Return tonight.Whose return?(Cooper?Audrey?Laura?)From where?( fugue states? The Lodge?)From what?(Death?) With only five episodes left to go, is that enough time for a proper return or just the hint of things that could come?
Maybe its my eyes playing tricks on me but does the image of Laura in the opening become even more solid with each passing episode as it fades in? Or am I seeing things?
It is Twin Peaks lore that Frost/Lynch had no real desire to quickly reveal the murderer of Laura Palmer. They had more of a desire to let that mystery fade to the background as new and more and more mysteries emerged on their own or because of the Laura Palmer investigation.Eventually it would have been necessary to reveal the killer or run the risk of becoming a parody of itself every time that some potential new evidence or suspect emerged.
But will they solve the mysteries of this season?Knowing full well that there will not be a fourth? The fact that there is even a third is beyond the pale of expectation. But a fourth? That alone would have been dependent upon this third season being a financial success. An unpredictability.Something that couldn’t be planned on for a series sequel that was 25 years in the making.
Will we see the return of Dale Cooper? He is trapped in a world he never made.We have been given no indication that he is fighting to get out of his mental state. There have been hints that there is something of the Good Dale inside, who recognizes things that were important to him before but no action on his part that speaks to a struggle to return.Only reaction.I want to hear him finish a sentence, not just parrot the words.Hear his mental process working to indicate he recognizes something or is trying to communicate. The closest we have been given has been his responding to the Lodge signal that Anthony was lying.Everything else out of his mouth has been a parrot of another persons verbal cue.
Would Frost/Lynch do this to us as viewers? Leave the Good Dale in this locked mental state? Granted, he is in a happy place of sorts. He has a loving wife who protects and cares for him in his condition. He has a son. Both elements of a home life that he would normally be robbed of experiencing after being locked in the Lodge for the past 25 years. He has a job that somehow he manages to succeed at despite his current mental status.(Something that despite some Lodge luck can not last for much longer-how can he handle new clients when he cant speak?).Luck seems to surround the Good Dale in his condition.Saving him from danger by things turning out all right around him.
But would they leave him trapped in this condition? After all these years of there not even being a possible third season-Would they really bring The Good Dale back only to leave him here, alone inside? It would seem like a disappointing waste of a character that was so central to the original series.
I respect and appreciate the struggle to return. That it is not sudden and easy. That we don’t have Agent Cooper immediately back in his suit snapping his fingers and intuiting deductions.Chasing down the Bad Dale. And I would respect him returning to his conscious self, especially if he had wounds. That parts of him were different and layered with sadness or regret, while there was still some of the Good Dale inside. But to leave him trapped inside this shell? It doesn’t make any sense from a story telling point? There is so much more drama to be had by his actual return.
Yes ,the anticipation of his return fuels many of his sequences. Will it happen? and how? Sudden or gradual? What will be the final trigger that sparks the return? There have been many of what as a viewer one would think might have been the final trigger-cherry pie being tops among them. But in reality, there has been no sign of an internal struggle. Well, despite the tear he sheds when the Good Dale stares at the boy who is now his son sitting in the back seat of the car.Mourning for a life he was denied or overcome with love for the life he now has?
With only five episodes to go,if it happens, how will the return of the Good Dale play out in the overall story? A sudden return in one of the early five would allow for a confrontation between the two Dales. He awakes,Gordon finds him, gets him up to speed. They hunt the Bad Dale.If it happens in the last episode, how could he be part of the final confrontation that one anticipates in the climax of a series.Events in Twin Peaks appear to be occurring days ahead of the events in the other timezones.
What WILL be the final climactic confrontation? We know that he FBI is hunting the Bad Dale. The Bad Dale seeks coordinates for some unknown purpose. Both seem on a path to Twin Peaks. With a possible stop over in Las Vegas to cross paths with the Good Dale. The Good Dale is in danger of being killed by Chantal and Hutch.Though what will be their reaction when they see his similar appearance to the Bad Dale? The police of Twin Peaks are in search of a location that was left by Major Briggs. Are these one and the same as the coordinates or is this something else? Will they all come together at the same time for an old fashioned shoot out? How will this all end?
There are many side stories that we will most likely not be provided closure or even a direct hint to their ends. Will Audrey’s situation or condition be clarified? What will be Shelly’s fate now that she is seeing Red, the local drug dealer? Hows Annie?Wheres Annie? Will Norma ever finish her paperwork?
Episode 13
And ...here....we....GO!
Las Vegas
"Dougies" place of work .The Mitchum brothers are conga dancing with "Dougie" through the lobby, the three ladies in pink carrying packages.I'm singing in my head "You don't win friends with salad" over and over.
Anthony goes hiding under his desk as he cant believe his eyes.Despite his worst efforts the Good Dale is alive.AND the Mitchum Brothers are very happy.
When does this scene take place? Last time we saw The Good Dale and the Brothers together they were all sitting at a table enjoying cherry pie. The next episode we saw The Good Dale, briefly, he was "playing" ball with Sonny Jim in his jungle gym free backyard. But Bushnell makes the comment that "looks like you boys made quite a night of it.Dougie you might want to call your wife"

If he was gone all night then when did he play ball with Sonny Jim in the last episode? Could the first night out with the Mitchums ,when everything was resolved with the big insurance check, have come and gone and then the Good Dale was returned home. Then the next day he "plays" ball with Sonny Jim.Then later that evening the Good Dale is once again taken out on the town by the Mitchum brothers to once again celebrate their good fortune and kept out all night. Then this sequence is taking place after all that?A passage of time moving us ahead by a day, getting closer to the same day to events that are happening in Twin Peaks which is a week ahead of the "Dougie" timeline?

Since everyone always wears the same clothes its hard to determine day from day.I suppose a subtle clue might be in the color of the Mitchum’s ties to indicate different days have passed,as the pink ladies never change outfits, but I haven’t compared episodes to see if there is any change.

The gifts that Bushnell is presented with would take some time to acquire and prepare for presentation ,even with the Mitchum brothers money.Cigars could be purchased in a specialty store in a day.A car could be purchased same day and driven off the lot,but still would have to be picked out.Monogramed cufflinks would take some time.So it seems likely that at least one day has passed since the cherry pie in the piano bar.The Mitchum’s ,most likely picked up "Dougie" that evening to take him on the town and never returned him home.Perhaps he joined them on the shopping spree

Anthony is in utter disbelief at what he is seeing. He calls Duncan Todd in a panic and fear, who tells him gravely he now has ONE day to remedy the situation.Kill Dougie Jones.
Duncan calls his assistant Roger into his office in a bit of a panic himself. If Duncan doesn’t do the Bad Dales bidding and take care of "Dougie Jones" he too will be dead. Time is running out fast for everyone.Could Duncan now ask his assistant to find another person to take care of "Dougie"? Adding to the number of people who make an attempt on the Good Dales life. His luck cant hold out forever.
At the home of the Jones we see the inevitable delivery of the Jungle Gym."Dougie" also has a new car to replace the one that was exploded in a previous episode. The Good Dales luck continues to shine on him despite his lack of any effort. Janey-E is so in love with "Dougie" and how events have unfolded for the better in their lives in the past few days that she is brought to tears.

The gym is an elaborate set up with lights. There is music in the air.Tchaikovsky's "Dance of the swans". as Sonny Jim runs around and through the gym. A spotlight moves back and forth over the proceedings.
It's a strange set up.That could lead one to place more to the image than is actually there. Such as:the mini trampoline that is a black circle surrounded by white dashes, appears like the circle of scorched engine oil and sycamore trees one sees before the entrance to the Lodge at Glastonbury Grove. The arch could symbolize the entryway itself. There is falling water in a fountain near the entryway. One of the supports for the awning looks like a representation of a tree,a white sycamore tree perhaps? There is electricity flowing through the gym in the stringed lights. But then again, a jungle gym could just be a gym. And we just have one big happy family. If The Good Dale were to be left here forever, this would not be such a bad place to be.
A sudden shocking image just occurred to me.What if the sudden death of Sonny Jim and Janey-E is what brings The Good Dale out of his stupor? What if Hutch and Chantal’s two targets in Las Vegas are these two? And this is the Bad Dale taking away the Good Dales happiness? Punishing him and manufacturing some serious Garmonbozia? But what if the grief that the Good Dale feels in this moment is what wakes him? And sets him on a path to avenge their deaths
Janey-E comments that Sonny Jim is in 7th Heaven with his gym.The Good Dale returns with a "seven heaven" not seventh. And moments later when Janey-E says I love you so much. The Good Dale doesn’t speak, but mouths the words "so much" Another slight change in his responses to others.Indicating what, though?
WESTERN MONTANA

The Bad Dale pulls into a secured garage. Ray is here. This must be the farm of which was spoken before.Though what is grown here must be a whole lot of crime. Joining Ray is Renzo, played by the actor,Derek Mears, who portrayed Jason in the Friday the 13th reboot.
Though the Bad Dale is currently trapped in the garage entrance, Renzo foolishly invites the man up for some fun. This after he has heard Rays story of how he killed him and the things he saw.And yet the Bad Dale stands before them alive and well.No one ever said Jason was smart
Once inside, the Bad Dale is greeted by multiple armed men of various shapes and thuggery. And what looks like an accountant? Despite being what one would presumed , outnumbered, the Bad Dale is not phased and simply wants to see his old friend Ray.
In order for that to happen, the Bad Dale must first play along. The rules the game are presented:Beat Renzo at arm wrestling, something no one in 14 years has done, and you will be the new Boss.Lose, and you now work for Renzo.Refuse to do what he asks afterwards ,and you die.
But the Bad Dale doesn’t want to be the boss of this kindergarten class. He just wants Ray.As they move to the other room to play the game, Renzo gives the Bad Dale a hard love tap on the back of the head "from the nursery school teacher".The Bad Dale doesn't cry out in pain or even make a comment. He just turns around to face his attacker, who himself is surprised at the fact that the man didn’t even fall to the ground.

The arm wrestling match is over the top tense, as we really have no indication what will happen.Renzo is strong and huge and outsizes the Bad Dale. The Bad Dale is wicked evil and doesn’t care about anything other than what he wants. There is a moody sense that the Bad Dale will tear his opponents arm off, though we haven’t seen a display of extreme strength before.Nor are we aware of how the removal of BOB has changed the Dopplecooper.

The Bad Dale doesn't finish the game immediately. Its almost as if he is studying the act.His arm gets pulled to the side quickly. But then the Bad Dale plays with Renzo. Shows him how it hurts.Going back and forth between starting positions and the almost finishing the game.Mocking him by returning his own arm to the losing side and then returning his opponents back to the opposite. Then the Bad Dale slams his opponents arm down with a crack, and before Renzo can stand, punches him in the face.Killing him.Crushing his nose into his head.

The Bad Dale requests some cell phones.(Has he burned through all of his burner phones from Hutch already?Who is he calling?)Ray makes a run for it and is shot in the leg.
"Somebody hired you to kill me,who is it?" The Bad Dale asks" I can make you tell me"
Ray says "IT came THROUGH a man named Phillip Jeffries" Interesting. So Jeffries is implied to not be the one who made the hire.Someone working with Phillip.Could it be Albert?Albert did say he gave some information to Phillip once that got someone killed.Might this be what he was referencing, even though the Bad Dale was clearly alive in the prison cell they just left.Might Albert have been referencing the death of the real, yet manufactured,"Dougie Jones"?

Ray only talked to him on the phone.Never met him.So he only goes by the name he was given. He set up the whole prison thing with Warden Murphy.Jeffries said that he Bad Dale would kill Ray and that Ray could get out and stay out if he killed the Bad Dale first.
"
Why?" asks the Bad Dale
"He said you got something inside that they want." says Ray
THEY? Whose THEY? And inside? Obvious thought is that "they" mean BOB.The voice on the phone in the earlier episode said he "would be with BOB again"..again? Could this mean Phillip Gerard, who used to hang and murder with BOB as his familiar? Could MIKE be pretending to help the Good Dale only for personal goals of getting back into Gerard with BOB by his side? And Phllip Jeffries is a red herring?
Or......could this mean that we might get a surprise appearance by none other than David Bowie, who played Phillip Jeffries in Fire Walk With Me. The constant mentioning of his character is too tempting to want to believe that Bowie managed to get in one last performance for us before his end. It would be a spectacular surprise.
"Did he ever mention Major Briggs?"Why would this be of interest to the Bad Dale? What did Major Briggs know that would be a threat to the Bad Dale? The two supposedly have not seen each other since 25 years ago in Twin Peaks.
Ray removes the Owl Cave ring from his pocket and says "Jeffries said I was suppose to put this on you after I killed you ".It was given to him by someone dressed as guard, but unfamiliar to Ray before they left the prison. The Bad Dale tells him to put it on his ring finger, left hand
The Bad Dale wants the coordinates Ray got from Hasting's secretary,Betty.
Ray says "I know what you are" Does he? What does he know? Ray has the coordinates written down in his pocket. But he gives the Bad Dale one last taunt with a "Are you sure you can trust the coordinates I give you?"It does seem odd that after all this time he has them written down ready to hand over when before he had them memorized. If the Bad Dale had known for a second that  Ray had them written down he would have taken them off Rays dead body long ago.
The Bad Dale is searching for information, even after 25 years he has not been able to find it.These important coordinates. He lacks The Good Dales intuition. Has he been searching all these 25 years for this location? If the coordinates lead to Twin Peaks? How does he not know about that already having emerged to this side from there? The locations cant be to the Black Lodge/Red Room entrance as we have seen before,as he has worked to avoid going back there. Will this take him to a third realm we have not seen? We've seen the entrance to the Lodge in the woods. The entrance to the Woodsmen's place in the backyard of the Hasting's location. Could this lead to where we have seen the Abomination?Does the Bad Dale miss his Mommy?Where did the Abomination go after killing the couple in New York? Was its portal in New York only a temporary entrance and not one that could be crossed over completely.Or is the abomination now out there wandering the world.Devouring while we watch these events unfold in Twin Peaks?
The Bad Dale still had to get the coordinates from Ray. So does this mean that Diane is not working with the Bad Dale?Their timelines are on the same wave.Wouldn't she have them texted to him already,if so?Or is he trying to compare to make sure they are the same? That she hasn’t double crossed him. If Diane is not working with the Bad Dale, then who? Phillip Jeffries? Unknown?I still want to believe she has good intentions.
As Ray hands over the written coordinates we are shown Richard Horne slinking forward towards the giant screen seen earlier that the whole crew has been watching this scene unfold upon.Damn,he got far in the past few days. This will need some timeline investigation. If the events in Twin Peaks are playing out a week ahead of the Dougie Jones events.(amusing that the muddled mind of the Good Dale events are BEHIND,everyone else) then this means that the Bad Dale is in sync with Twin Peaks timeline. Richard is enamored with this figure of evil on the screen. To some it might imply that he recognizes something about this "man" before him.Playing into the theories that the Bad Dale is his father via the raping of a comatose Audrey. Or he could just be fascinated by the evil coming off the figure.
The Bad Dale asks "Where is Phillip Jeffries?" Ray says that last he heard, Phillip was at a place called The Dutchman's but it's not a real place. Before he barely finishes the sentence the Bad Dale shoots him in the head and says " I know WHAT it is" Not where.What.
Random Google Fu resulted in this definition :dutchman (plural dutchmen)(carpentry, masonry) A piece of wood or stone used to repair a larger piece, shaped such that it fills as exactly as possible a void or cavity that is to be repaired. Lynch is also into building his own furniture. It's possible that this passion could have influenced events.Terminology.Dutchman is also a brand name of RVs.Could Phillip be hiding out in the Deer Meadow Trailer Park? In a trailer like the one that belonged to the Chalfont’s in Fire Walk With Me?
Side note: Episode ONE of the original series had a group of noisy Dutchmen.
The Bad Dale watches as the ring disappears off Rays finger and we see it fall into the Lodge and bounce on the chevron floor. While Rays body remains on this side, there is also a version of it in the Lodge. Could this indicate that, when upon death, if one is wearing the ring, a part of them is kept inside the Lodge? Would this be then the version of Laura Palmer we see that is not a Doppelganger since she placed the ring on her finger moments before her murder? Is there a Theresa Banks version somewhere in the Lodge?
We see Mikes hand place the ring on the pedestal. What part is he playing in this? I believe he was last seen placing the ring in his pocket after the manufactured "Dougie" appeared.Did he give it to Ray? If so,was this in cahoots with Phillip Jeffries and the prison plan, or done as a separate act? If in conjunction, this means that MIKE has been in communication with Jeffries.Or perhaps Phillip Gerard who is pretending to be Jeffries. What are these two planning?
Las Vegas police station
According to APHIS,their "Dougie Jones" escaped from prison two days ago AND is a missing FBI agent. The three police brothers think this is a clerical mistake and throw the paperwork in the trash.Putting an end to them contacting the FBI directly and connecting the dots from Dougie to Gordon. Its still possible that a bell might ring from the search alone. In the background a altercation is occurring. But at the tail end of that is a woman saying "we want to report a cop" and a man telling her " take a seat ma'am, I'll be with you in a minute". Could this be our 119 girl? Momentary delayed while someone in the room goes nuts.
Anthony arrives to speak to a dirty cop,Det Clark, most likely one of the cops who was involved in the insurance scams, and asks for something about poison and hes offered something that will" Do the job give you two hours to get away ".The Cops intend to inform Duncan Todd of the new development.
Chantal and Hutch are driving through Utah. Mormons. Shes chomping down on her Cheetos.Off to take care of the Bad Dales two-fer? in Las Vegas? It's about 8 hours between North Dakota and Montana, so that’s how long the Bad Dale has traveled since the last time he saw the couple. And Utah is not far from Las Vegas, about 449km.Closing in.

Next day,Anthony watches Dougie walk into the door at work and once he finally gets inside he invites him for a cup of coffee. After a sip , the Good Dale hears the siren scent call of cherry pie and gets up from the table. Leaving his cup for Anthony to poison.Which he does
But when the Good D
ale returns to the table his attention is taken by Anthony's shoulders. There is dandruff on there. The Good Dale puts his hands on his shoulders and starts to massage. This unexpected act of kindness suddenly causes a change of heart in Anthony. Who breaks down in tears and confesses.
Anthony agrees to testify against Duncan Todd. And the two cops.
By his mere presence the Good Dale has gotten a man to confess his crimes and could bring down SEVERAL CRIMINALS.He really hasn't done anything to accomplish this. It's just seemed to happen

Back in Twin Peaks,Shelly comforts her daughter with the promise of Norma's cherry pie,ice cream and whip cream. This enticing offer brightens her mood. Norma’s pie has that effect on a person. If only we could get a slice into the Good Dale.Probably explains why the pie the Good Dale is seen eating doesn't have the same effect.Szymon’s famous cherry pie just doesn’t cut it compared to Norma's family recipe. It's not made with the same natural ingredients. If only the Good Dale could walk into one of those Double R franchises.
It's another sweet moment of Shelly trying to be a good Mom for her upset daughter. She tries to blow her off at first but then offers her the promise of pie and time to talk.Though, how Becky is going to get there considering she doesn’t have a car could be an issue.Unless Carl Rod's version of Uber is in service.Than again, the pacifying with pie could also be an indication of how Shelly has dealt with her daughters troubles in the past.

Later in the evening Bobby comes to the Double R for dinner. His usual, that he doesn’t even have to order by name. Off in the corner he spots, for this viewer is a beautiful sight,Norma and Big Ed together.Bobby approaches and asks if Shelly has gone home already.Upon hearing she has he utters one of his familiar sarcastic "Oks" that he used in the original series.Norma and Ed invite him to eat his dinner at their table. This small act is telling as to how Bobby has changed over the last 25 years that they would be so welcoming. He has probably shown both Norma and Big Ed how much he has grown and hes like family to them now.And these two,Ed and Norma, see him hurting and immediately welcome him to the table so he doesn’t have to be alone now that Shelly has moved on without him.
Bobby reveals that they found some stuff that his Dad left today. Today?Wasn’t that back in episode 9?? This is episode 13. Are we still in the day where Truman,Hawk and Bobby found the directions to Jack Rabbits Palace? Two days before they venture into the woods? How is that possible? Or is Bobby referring to something else? Did they go to Jack Rabbits already and we weren’t shown that moment and found something else there? Seems unlikely.Bobby says they are going to check it out.So has not occurred yet as far as we know.
But if memory serves me well, Bobby was shown at the Double R the night after the discovery of Major Briggs message after the whole Becky situation unfolded. So at least one day has passed since the discovery.
Unless we are seeing Bobby come back to the Double R near the end of Shelly’s shift in this scene. After the paperwork and taking of statements made after the shooting incident. In hopes of speaking to Shelly before she goes out with Red.The use of the word "today" really throws things off. What could it mean?
Norma gets up and says she will get Eds dinner for him.Bobby asks if they would like to be alone. To which Big Ed says "No reason, pal. Nothing happening here." Could he mean that the two weren’t being intimate with each other in that moment ...or at all? And theses are just two long time friends, former lovers ,who have decided to remain friends despite separating.
Norma then receives a guest. Her business manager. There is an intimacy between them, but not one that immediately suggests a relationship.Walter comes across as one of those overly touchy businessmen who thinks its OK to put his arm around Norma. For all we know, he could be a relative of Norma’s.Big Ed doesn’t seem threatened or bothered by his presence. He even offers to move to another table so they may talk in peace.
We learn that Norma has turned the Double R into franchises. And while the new Double R's are turning a profit ,the original flagship RR is losing money with each slice of pie. Norma argues that the other places are not using the original recipe and she has received complaints that those pies are not up to her standards.
Walter asks if they are still on for dinner later, to celebrate. Later? how late does Norma eat? If Bobby and Big Ed are here having dinner, just how late does Norma eat? and where? Silly thing to think about but there you go.

Elsewhere in Twin Peaks,Nadine is sitting at her computer in her office at work, when outside Doctor Jacoby drives by and comes to a complete stop when he sees one of his Golden shovels prominently displayed in the front window.
He goes to talk to Nadine who is ecstatic that Dr AMP has come to her door. She raves about his show and mentions that ,no surprise there, her drapes are COMPLETELY SILENT! Jacoby recalls a story of the last time he saw her ,7 years ago,she had dropped a potato in the store and was down looking for it.She seems taken by the fact that he recalls this insignificant moment that she herself barely remembers.Tune in next week to Invitation to Love.....

Over at the Palmer residence, all is dark. Inside Sarah is watching a black and white boxing match.Could this be an old broadcast of one of Bushnell’s fights? There is a repeating electrical noise that is heard that signals the repeat of the same passage of footage on the television screen. Over and over.
Sarah is shown standing and walking in and out of the room while this happens. She never reacts to the noise or the repeating of the sequence.More focused on her bottles and their emptiness.Does this happen often to her? This is her every day?Another reason why she drinks heavily?(as if the grief wasn’t enough) The strange electric static a result of some Lodge inhabitant trying to mess with Sarah Palmer? Is her house haunted by Lodge spirits?Does she always watch programs of violence?
*smacks the needle of the record player*
WHAT IS GOING ON IN THIS HOUSE ?!
Audrey and Charlie

Audrey is in tears."What did she say?"
I've been thinking about this. What was on the other end of the conversation? It might have gone something like this:
Charlie:...you were last person to see Billy, is this true?"
Tina:"Billy is dead!"
Charlie"What?"
Tina:"You know Billy's truck was stolen?"
C:"Yeah, I know that"
T:"Richard killed Billy over it"
C:"You're sure?"
T:Tina explains what she knows about the stolen truck
C:"But..."
T:She explains how she knows this to be true.
C:"OK.."
T:"Is Audrey with you"
C:"Yeah"
T:"You know Audrey was sleeping with Billy?"
C:"Yes Tina!"
T:"Audrey will be devastated when she hears this"
C:"Ok"
T:"You can't tell her about Richard killing Billy"
C:"How did you find...."
T:"I was there, I saw it happen"
C:"Really?"
T:Explains what she saw.And of the murdered child
C:"Oh my goodness"
T:finishes her story"
C:"Thank you Tina"
T:She emphasises about why its not good to tell Audrey the truth
C:"Great"
T:"Goodnight"
C:"I'll talk to you soon"
T:"I don't know when I'll be free"
C:"I'll try tomorrow"
T:"something about having to be up early
C:"Again, sorry to call so late"
T:"She comments on the horrible things that have happened-something like -cant believe he killed that kid
C:"Unbelievable what you are telling me"
T:"don't Audrey about Billy"
C:"I won't"
T:"I mean it, she can't handle this!"
C:"I promise!"
T:"This is awful, I feel so sorry for her"
C:"Yeah, me too"
T:Gives her goodbye
C:"Bye"
Audrey has taken her coat off and the two have moved to another room.
She wants to know what Tina said but Charles tells her to stop it."We've been over this."He's not going to tell her.
Audrey appears to be having a bit of a mental break. She is no longer the foul mouthed demanding woman of the previous episode. She now says " I feel like I am somewhere else. And somebody else.Well,I’m not sure who I am, but I'm not me"
Could this Charles be her live in psychiatrist?Someone she married in a moment of weakness. It seems likely that there would have been some damage to Audrey’s brain after the bank explosion and coma. She's probably been off inside her head ever since.
She pleads "Who am I supposed to trust but myself and I don’t even know who I am.So what the fuck am I supposed to do?"
Charles tells her that she is suppose to go to the Roadhouse and see if Billy is there. Is he trying to get her to follow through on something.Does Audrey normally give up when it comes to leaving. Is she this seasons Harold?
But, oddly,Audrey claims she doesn’t know where the Roadhouse is?Shes lived in Twin Peaks all her life.Shes been there before. This is odd.Even Charles tells her she knows where it is.Has the explosion taken away her memories?
Charles makes a insinuation that she may be on drugs.
But she pleads with him "Just where is it?"
He says he will take her there.
He warns her though that she needs to stop playing games or will he have to end her story, too? What game IS she playing? threatening to break the contract? or something else?
"What story is that ,Charlie? Is that the story of the little girl who lived down the lane?".Taking the tag line from the movie poster it could sound like Audrey's story:Where are her mother and father? She had a rough relationship with both her parents. Her Mothers hands are full with Audrey's brother ,Johnny and living separate from her husband in a new home.Audrey used to live in a great big house ,full of guests, yet she was alone in the Great Northern Hotel. She was never known for having many, if any friends so no one visited her. What is her unspeakable secret? That she was raped while in a coma by the Bad Dale and Richard Horne is the result?
Audrey Moves! For a moment, I thought she would never walk in front of us.
Charlie points out that she now seems like she doesn’t want to go.
"I want to stay and I want to go.I want to do both.Which will it be ,Charlie? Which one would you be? " Which one would you be? that’s an strange turn of phrase?
"Charlie help me,It's like Ghostwood here"

The Ghostwood Development Project was a plan originally spearheaded by Benjamin Horne to build a country club on the location of Ghostwood National Forest. However, the project eventually found its way into the hands of Catherine Martell, while Horne had a change of heart, founding the Stop Ghostwood campaign, fighting for the conservation of the forest.A project that never completed itself.Maybe sitting half way between what it was and was going to be? Is this like Audrey, never sure what she should be?Always going back and forth?
               Poor Audrey,She is broken.Beyond repair?

(Just) You have got to be fucking kidding me!

Well, since Audrey never makes it to the Roadhouse....she never gets to hear :
James Hurley singing.THAT song! I LOVE that they did this ! Though, I wish they had James say something like "This is for Donna" and the crowd reacted like THEY knew what he meant.Giving us an inkling of what happened to her character. And we all recall what happened after James sang that song in the Hayward living room.BOB made a frightful appearance.Could there be something coming for the young lady crying in the booth?

Maybe it's just you (and I) ,That felt like the David Lynch/Mark Frost equivalent of a Rick Rolling

Later at Big Eds gas farm,Ed eats a late meal out of to-go cups from the Double R.Norma is out having dinner with her business partner.Didn’t Ed already have dinner?  Is this his third shift meal? How late does the gas station stay open in this small town?
He is still wearing a wedding ring. But whose? Nadines? Are they separated while she goes off and runs her successful business?Have he and Norma decided just to be close friends after all these years?

Cars drive buy, no one stops for gas.A bored Ed burns some paper on his desk.Probably not the smartest thing to do at a gas station. It's a lonely night for Big Ed.

Have any of our favorite characters found happiness 25 years later?
