Strangest things just pop into me head.
Here I am sitting ,arranging and seeking songs for this years Halloween mix, when suddenly........ I hear a line of dialogue slip into my thoughts. Before I know it ,I find myself trying to be kind and rewind that thought back to wherever it started and this is what came to mind :
A Doctor-a middle aged widow, respected for her studies on the subject of serial killers and those who commit violent acts of murder, has been retired for several years.She gave up the ghost after an terrifying experience where she was harassed relentlessly by "fans" of the last serial killer whom she assisted in his capture.The same serial killer who attacked and almost murdered her in the court room during the subjects case.
An active detective, who had worked closely with the Doctor on many cases, continues to meet with her friend for drinks,conversation and jigsaw puzzles over the years.
For these gatherings to continue,the Detective has been asked by the Doctor to never discuss any of her current cases even in minor detail.It is a forbidden topic.She complies, until one night, the Detective pays a surprise visit to the Doctor and in conversation begins to discuss what she believes to be the current handy-work of a serial killer, but no one believes her and the investigation has stalled.
The Doctor vehemently protests.But the detective persists.Managing to show pictures of the first two victims,and the third who was discovered mere nights before.All children.
Instantly, the Doctor notices something, but continues to voice her refusal to participate
Her friend is direct -"You WILL help me. I know you will. "
The Doctor scoffs at this statement-" How do you know what I'll do?I said no, and I mean it.No more"
The Detective begins to slowly place kindergarten school before pictures of each of the three girls down on the table in front of the good Doctor.One....by one....by one and then gently places her hand on the empty space to the left of the third photo .
Detective-" Because I know how much you want to meet girl number four........alive"
