There's Fire Where You Are Going

Episode 11
The motif of memory plays a part in this weeks episode. Many characters struggle with it and its presence or absence effects the lives of others.
We open on kids playing catch near what looks like a trailer park. The camera follows back and forth with the ball. Its a simple ,calm before the storm moment. The kids are playing together. The youngest is not excluded or teased.A rare happy family moment in the world of Twin Peaks. One that is about to be colored red.
From out of the nearby woods crawls Miriam.Bloody and hurt.Richard Horne may be a bastard but hes not a terribly effective murderer. What did he do to her eye? Will she be the next patch wearing resident of Twin Peaks

This seasons dangerous characters have a pattern of damaging or destroying the left eye.The left eye of 3-D glasses is commonly red. When worn, the images on the screen in red are filtered out, leaving only the blue to be communicated to the brain.Conversely, the right eye would then only see the red images. The color red is a constant throughout Twin Peaks. Richard works for the drug peddler Red.The Red Room of the Lodge.Red shoes worn by many. Cherry red pie.
Elsewhere in the trailer park, Becky is on the phone receiving some distressing news. At first it is unclear what , but it quickly makes Becky upset. She grabs a gun from underneath her couch.Calls her Mother for help as she needs to borrow a car.
It becomes apparent that Becky is upset with something that Steven has done." I hate him ,I hate him." It is interesting to note that in the previous episode Becky was shown cowering before Stevens rage.A scene that invoked the memory of the marriage of Leo and Shelly. Why is she angry now, and not before? If Becky can get this angry and has a weapon and is ready to defend herself, why would she cower beneath the blankets if she has this within her?Was it the unhinged unpredictable nature of a withdrawing Steven that frightened her? or was that the first time Steven argued back and this caught the normally bully in the relationship,Becky, off guard?
Does this scene take place hours after the one we witnessed in their trailer in the last episode? (will need to go back and compare her outfits)
Shelly responds quickly to Becky’s call of distress, telling Norma she has to leave..Has this happened before?Or has Shelly been anticipating this call for some time?
Norma is STILL doing paperwork.Almost every time we have seen her in the show she is sitting down at a table doing paperwork. It is the life of small business owner. She has to do this, there is no one else. Her husband Hank is dead.We are not aware of the current status of her and Big Eds relationship. She has no partner in her life or in the business. Her parents are deceased.(according to the Secret History of Twin Peaks.) Annie is ??  Who know how Annie is.Norma is alone. Her Coworkers are her family now.

Becky is crazed. So much so that as she drives away on the car she even endangers her Mothers life. Focused on her rage towards Steven, Becky doesn’t even acknowledge when she throws her Mother from the hood of the car in her reckless driving. She's seeing red and nothing else.
And what is up with Shelly jumping onto the car in the first place? Yes. she knows all to well the rage towards ones husband and how far down that can send a person into  that rabbit hole. But this is a bit extreme.Love the shoe flip when she fell to the ground.
Carl Rodd shows up and offers help to the fallen Shelly. Can I say, how in the few brief moments we have experienced with him in this series, I have grown to love the character of Carl Rodd. There is something about him, a kindness, that just makes his character glow. I would wager that Carl is an empath. He is someone people instantly respond to as a friend who can be talked to about troubles.
"Becky and Steven are fighting again" So it had happened to this degree before. Carl's "oh God" reply indicated that this is something serious that even he has witnessed first hand.
Speaking of troubles, he and others have known there is "trouble in that trailer" So the Becky Steven relationship has been on edge for some time.Though, unlike with Leo, this time Becky may be the beast.
I love Carl’s version of Uber with his Willy Wonka Whistle that calls forth his transportation.
"Why don't you call Bobby?" Yes,why DOESN'T she? They had a close relationship, and both understand the kind of trouble a couple like Becky and Steven could be going through having been through it themselves. He's a cop, he could help stop whatever is coming. This is the first indication that the two are still on speaking terms. But how good of terms still remains to be seen or heard, as Shelly doesn't jump at the opportunity. She actually doesn’t even respond to this perfectly reasonable suggestion from Norma.
Another moment that just makes Carl Rodd sing: He hops to the CB and gets a direct line to the Sheriffs station. I'm beginning to think that Carl is an original Bookhouse Boy.
I find this direct line to Maggie, and their familiarity, intriguing.Just who is this Carl Rodd? A Saint?Interesting that despite all the modern technology the station still uses CB’s for the public to communicate their concerns.
Shelly gets patched into Bobby and informs him that Becky has a gun and is off to she doesn’t know where. But Becky knows.
Becky has arrived to an apartment building looking for Steven. Banging on the door she alarms the neighbor who informs her that no one is in there. Whether Becky believes this or not is not clear, but she steps back and fires multiple head level shot bullets into the door. Elsewhere in the apartment complex we are shown Steven and .....is that..it is! Gersten Hayward! Last seen playing piano in season two at the Hayward Supper Club. Another Hayward girl gone wild.Maybe Donna wasn’t the only child Benjamin Horne fathered.

At the police station, Maggie is inundated with call after call.
"What’s your location?… Someone’s on the way" This is a common theme in this series - location...and someone is on there way to said location.Or in the case of individuals like the Good Dale ..where are you inside all that fog? Someone is on there way.( as he ,hopefully, but slowly returns. As well ,events are conspiring to draw people closer to his location that could speed up his return)
Are all these calls from the shooting at the apartment? or could there be events happening all over town?
Next it is off to Buckhorn. Gordon and the gang are pulling up to the location where Hastings claims to have seen Major Briggs. The vehicles pull up to a fenced in are that surrounds a run down house ,several shipping containers and not much else.
Hastings tells Tammy that it was about 15-20 feet within the fence but he doesn’t recall what happened after that.
Diane says"This is far as I go" With her suspicious behavior of late that feels like a loaded statement .Does she know what is about to happen and wants to steer clear of the danger? Or does she just want to hang back and have a few smokes.
Someone, a woodsman? appears between the structures.....and then disappears. Hasting appears to see this man.He exhales sharply but doesn't cry out as if in danger, especially considering what happens next to him.Does his failing memory recall something is wrong but cant place what?
Albert and Gordon see as well. "I see it" ....it? Not him? Are they aware of woodsmen as a concept?
"Think theres one in there?" One what? entry point? Have they seen others before? Or come across hoax after hoax.
The sound of static electricity crackles and ominous music is in the air as
Gordon approaches the distance.Hastings watches and gets more concerned. The memory may be returning.
Gordan starts to fade in and out of focus as Albert watches. Gordon stares up and watches as the sky begins to swirl into a vortex. Sucking in leaves off trees.Faster and faster it spins as we move forward into the center.Lightning flashes along the edges.

To outsiders , it looks as if Gordon is standing there in the middle of the yard with his hands raised high to the calm sky.

A darkness emerges from the center of the vortex as we push forward. Revealing three Woodsmen with white eyes standing near the top of a set of stairs of a darkly painted room.Along the wall there is a white stain that resembles a nuclear explosion. Woodsmen cave painting? The image lasts for only a moment, but close inspection reveals another secret. Behind the Woodsmen one can make out a similar floral pattern that closely recalls the wallpaper seen in the photo given to Laura Palmer in Fire Walk With Me by Mrs Tremond. The same photo Laura entered in her dream. The same dream where she saw Annie. And was shown the Owl Cave Ring.

The Woodsmen appear as if they are....descending ...the stairs.Ready to drink full?
Gordon moves forward and starts to fade in and out of existence.Moments before Gordon disappears to the other side, Albert grabs him and pulls him back.
I think we just saw what Chet Desmond must have witnessed when he disappeared at the Fat Trout Trailer Park in Fire Walk With Me after finding the Owl Cave ring.Might Chet have had a boxing match with these woodsmen, with them fading in and out of time and place as he threw each punch, till they tired of toying with him and took hold of his head .
Hastings is no longer watching Gordon. He stares forward shivering in fear.Is he remembering more?
Albert notices something to the right. A body in the weeds

Ruth Davenports body
How long has it been outside here? its only been a few days since her head was found. It’s body positioning recalls a painting by Marcel Duchamp -Etant donnes .An artist who amusingly in relation to this series also made an art piece called “In advance of a broken arm” that gave great significance to of all things, a shovel.
Diane, ever the suspicious behavior.Blows smoke out slowly, deliberately. We are shown the same woodsman appearing and disappearing in frame. However, this frame is shown in reverse from the actual location. We are led to believe this is Diane’s sight-line.Does she see things backwards? Or was this a flipping of the frame for aesthetic choice?
The same creeping Woodsman is shown coming around from behind a house outside the fence and approaching the car where Hastings is locked in the back seat . A music cue hits in time to a potential reaction from Diane.Does she see the Woodsman? Or does she just sense the presence? She doesn’t say anything ,despite seeing it approach the car and her visual alarm in the moment. Does the vision not register completely, fading in and out, like something floating in ones eye? Her attention turns back to Albert and Gordon who we see from the back talking about the body.Is she watching them closely to see if they see what is about to happen? Or does she think she is seeing things since the image didn't hold.

The body lays in a interesting position. Who left it here? Did the Woodsmen toss it out from the other side?Who killed Ruth in the first place? How did her body get here  and her head in her apartment? And how did Major Briggs body get to Ruths as well? Why display one body in a room under a blanket and leave the other out naked in the yard?
Was this other side where Major Briggs was hiding? Seems unlikely that he could survive among the Woodsmen.Perhaps the entryway opens to different doors depending on the time and place . At this point in time, Gordon was entering a different time than when Hastings and Ruth first crossed over.
Ruth had the coordinates on her left arm.The same arm that lays outstretched flat as if someone spread it out to properly read the numbers. Her other arm points skyward. Why is she naked as well? Other than to make the identification of the coordinates more easily apparent than having to pull up a sleeve.Major Briggs' body was found naked as well. What are these Woodsmen doing that requires the body to be naked? Stealing the clothes? or something more awful?

The Woodsman drinks full and Hastings head descends.Blood splatters.Help is called to the location 2240 Sycamore. A particular tree of note to this world.
"There’s no backup for this " is Diane’s cold response. And to be fair, she is right. There’s no coming back up from ones head descending.Nor is there really anyone you can call to help in a situation such as all this otherwordlyness.(Ghostbusters notwithstanding) What the hell has Diane been through or seen that her reaction to this sudden and mysterious violence is essentially a shoulder shrug?
His remains are found similar to the bodies in the penthouse murders. Connecting the dots from the Woodsmen to the New York, to the Bad Dale. Interesting that the Penthouse victims were not killed by Woodsmen but by what look like the Mother figure from the nuclear experiment. It seemed to slice away at their heads, the Woodsmen appear to crush.
Did the Woodsmen know Gordon was coming? There was at least one waiting outside of the entryway and three more inside.
Was their target Hastings?Diane’s text response to the message was that Hastings was going to take them to the place.Did the person Diane texted, alert/warn/pass the message on to Woodsmen? Who alerted them? Fell a victim. Why would they need to sneak up and away? They fade into and out of vision.
Why target Hastings? What threat could he have really been? We've seen him fall apart easily. He wasn't the one to have found the location in the first place, that was Ruth. Is it because he came looking? And the Woodsmen want to prevent others curiosity being raised by Hastings work? Is it because Hastings was willing to help Major Briggs who was working to stop the Bad Dale. What do the Woodsmen want? They made no effort to kill any of the witnesses to Hastings death.
Gordon :"He's Dead".
It's now nighttime at the Double R Diner. And the Briggs family is gathered around the table. The conversation is lively.
This is one of those Twin Peaks moments we have been waiting for since the beginning.
Becky,Shelly and Bobby are seated together in a booth under the watchful eye of Norma. They are there to talk to about Becky’s troubles.
Becky is torn, she wants out of the marriage, but she still thinks she can change him.She needs a clue.Bobby and Shelly want to buy her a vowel. IEEEEEEE!! You can hear them screaming in their heads. This is not Steven going through something. The only reason he hasn’t been arrested yet is Bobby hoped he would change for Becky.
Bobby is offering to help pay for the door but Becky has to pay him back. This indicates to me that Bobby may not be Becky’s father. But a Stepfather.Or it could be Bobby trying to teach his "daughter" some responsibility. He doesn't leap to help her out of this situation and based on the ladies reactions hasn't been one to offer money before.
Shelly says" Carl says things are not right in that trailer".....this gets a reaction. Carl must be known as someone who sees things. Or maybe Becky is annoyed that Carl has been eavesdropping.Knows too much and could tell Shelly about Becky’s secrets. Is she thinking :What else has Carl said to Shelly about that trailer?
Bobby asks if Stevens ever hit Becky,She says no or denies it."HE'S not like that." Maybe SHE is.
They understand she is an adult married woman , but they don’t want to lose her.Norma ,who has been watching, seconds this sentiment with a nod and a smile. Suddenly Becky recalls what she did to her Mom. Could she really have completely blanked on that memory till now?
Tears are shed.Hugs are shared .....and then...
WHAT THE HELL SHELLY?
Red shows up outside and you suddenly drop your daughter and run to the door to meet him because he asks? When seconds ago you were in tears and telling your daughter she would be staying with you tonight ,deep in the middle of an emotional moment?
Guess Bobby and Shelly are separated but able to come together when their "daughter" needs them.
Shelly barely steps outside before she kisses Red.inside Becky and Bobby watch,stunned.What...the....?
AWWWWWWWWKWARD
Bobby is a little brought down by this moment (he probably still cares for Shelly) .And this family togetherness is something he likely misses. Becky is kind of WTF MOM?
Shelly is seeing Red ( of a different sort) So Shelly and Red have apparently hooked up and plan to do so again. That didnt take long. She continues the pattern of being into the bad boy, whose heavily into selling drugs. This wont end well. Might this be why she and Bobby broke up?Bobby got his life into order, changed his troubled ways and Shelly lost interest. No more danger.
Shelly has a type. They're dressed the same, both have full heads of graying hair. Both even are connected to guns and shooting.Bobby as part of his job, Red with his repeated finger gesture.Bobby used to sell drugs, now Red is a towns new designer drug runner.
A testament to Major Briggs faith in his son turning out good, Bobby shows himself to be the most responsible caring adult we've ever seen him being while Shelley immediately runs away and into the arms of the crazy, kung-fu-King and I loving-"magician"
Shelly is barely back to the table when gunshots ring out into the Double R
I love that Norma has a quick response to this - turn off the lights so they cant see their intended target. How often does this happen in Twin Peaks nowadays that she has a immediate response?
Bobby goes into police mode and runs outside.Turns out the shots were the result of a kid who picked up and pulled the trigger from an unsecured gun in the back seat of the family car. The asshole dad who is the gun owner acts like its no big deal. The wife, not so much. Bobby takes notice of the son and then the dad.Stares back and forth. They both share a similar body posture and attitude. For a character like Bobby whose relationship with his Father has become very significant over the years, the implication of a fathers influence and learned bad behavior stands out.Was this David Lynch's and Mark Frost's gun control message? The lack of reaction from the young boy is rather disturbing. It's as if he doesn’t care that he almost killed someone. That he could have even killed his own Mother if the gun had been aimed at her.He acts like its wrong for people to be upset, shooting a gun is his right ,his daddy told him so
As if the scene wasn’t filled with enough tension. A disgruntled driver who has rear ended the shooters van is laying on the car horn aggressively. The woman is in a rage herself. Honking the horn despite the fact that she witnessed the shooting and can clearly see what is going on. But it doesn’t matter to her, she only cares about her needs. Getting home to dinner.Self absorbed without a care for other peoples troubles. Even tough she admits to seeing what happened , she clearly could care less.ME ME ME! what I WANT WANT WANT.No thought at ALL to others....I can see it, I don’t care!
There is a "girl" in the passenger seat. The woman says she is sick. Moments later the child sits up and begins emitting a stream of dark liquid from her mouth.Moving as if possessed.Could she have also swallowed a Fricket, one of those frog moths? The girl continues to vomit just as the Mother verbally continues to do so towards Bobby.

Then, the driver finally takes notice of the little girl and screams
What is going on in this town?Mothers are abandoning their distraught daughters to go make out with a man she barely knows.Fathers stand by unfazed while their child almost kills several strangers.Children vomit while their self absorbed mothers rage on about being delayed because of someone else troubles. Bobby watches these family tableau's of horror in disbelief.
Bobby is joined by a fellow police officer Jesse who heard the shots from over at Big Eds Gas Farm.Does this mean that Big Ed will be appearing soon? Are the Bookhouse Boys coming back together?

It must be later at Sheriffs station
Hawk and Truman are looking up the location of Jack Rabbits Palace on the map.Truman using modern google map technology. Hawk with a native rabbit skin map of the Blue pine mountain area(revered sacred sight). And they tried to tell us its not about the bunnies
On Hawks map we are shown images of owls in trees.Black fire(the reverse of the light of real fire), diseased corn,(with a turkey nearby-"long gone, like a turkey in the corn"),unnatural.Death.
The filled in owl image can be seen hovering over the mountains and when asked about it,Hawk says "You don’t ever want to know about that". So he knows what the symbol represents.
Of interesting note, Michael Horse who plays Hawk, painted that map himself.
The Log Lady calls Hawk and asks "Hawk can you hear me? You found something didn’t you? What did you find?" But Hawk does not share. "I cant tell you that"
Margaret:"My log is afraid of Fire ,there’s fire where you are going"
Hawk is about to go on a walk where there is no roads. But apparently Fire.
Will we see an entrance to the other side when they get to Jack Rabbits Palace?
I'm still struck with an image of the gang being surrounded by burning woods from a forest fire, giving them no other choice but to go inside.
Deputy Jesse interrupts and wants to show Truman his new car.The simple pleasures of life in Twin Peaks go on despite the days traumas.
We return to Buckhorn and Gordon and the gang sit silently around the table. The conversation is not lively.Gordon has the shakes in his hand, much like we have seen resident of Twin Peaks have done before when Lodge events are transpiring.Considering what he has witnessed, his could be nerves.Or lack of coffee.

Diane sits on a high chair. She sits above them, observing, which is fitting as she thinks they are beneath her. FUCK YOU
Albert and Gordon share a few words.Almost as if in code. Cat on a hot tin roof?Lay out a saucer of some warm milk and see if she jumps at the
Were supposed to get some coffee ,but I don’t think that’s a good idea..(Gordon has second thoughts about testing Diane?)
He relents and ,Gordon gives a very terse, "YES"
"The picture you took of Ruth?"....now this moment plays like a typical Gordon hearing trouble, even Albert shoots Diane a look that indicates....this again, "sigh" but I think something more is going on here after last episode.
They have laid a trap and....
Curiosity killed the cat on the hot tin roof.Albert catches Diane reading the arm.Mouthing the numbers as if trying to memorize them.

4855142117463456
Last two numbers are smudged....I think Albert may have manipulate the photo just in case their concerns for Diane are true....maybe even the entire coordinates ,just in case. But definitely the last numbers
The "coordinates" point close to Twin Peaks, why wouldn't this be commented on?The connection would be to much of a coincidence to not note. Not simply say a small town in the north...
I'm reminded of Donnie Darko with bunny references, numbers on arms. time travel.
"
Dirty men in a room." Why are you staring at us Gordon?
So..here we have another one of those scenes in a David Lynch film where something extraordinary has happened but nobody really talks about it. Seriously? Five witnesses to the weirdness from different perspectives. Are they in shock? A mans head caves in while he sits in the back of a policeman’s car,but nobody saw it happen, and this doesn’t warrant more talk? The officer in the front seat while it occurs has no explanation for how it happened?Several claim to have seen a figure like the woodsman around the area and or leaving the car. Gordon claims to have seen them on the other side.
Have their memories been effected by the closeness of the Lodge? Diane recalls seeing one of them leaving the car, when we clearly saw her witness it approaching. Recalling seeing things backwards? Like that reversed image we saw from her point of view of the woodsman creeping?
Is there a danger of Diane? What is up with her? I like not knowing ,but if they introduced her character only to make her working with evil. I will be sorely disappointed.

If she saw something, why didn’t she say something in the moment?Like"HEY! FBI !There is a weirdo near the car." Did she lie and say she saw him getting out of the car...when she actually saw him approaching the car and admitting so would call attention to the fact that she didn’t warn anyone? Or can she not recall clearly?
Her inaction at first sight could have assisted with Hastings death. Why be afraid to say you saw something after all that she had witnessed already?
If she might have said something,it could have alerted the others whose presence might have chased the woodsman away.
Though, the woodsmen could get to Hastings wherever, since we saw them in the police station in an adjacent cell and walking the halls.
If she actively chose to not speak up, this definitely assisted with Hastings sad end.And implies that she is up to no good.
What is Diane doing? Who is she working for if she is up to evil tricks? what does she really know?Personally, I will be very unhappy that after all this time a character that was built up in our mind as important and close to Cooper would turn out to be a criminal.Actively making choices that ends in the death of others. Careless and callous. Her introduction was powerful. Her fall from our grace would feel pointless
Why bring her into the show only for her to be this horrible person? I'm not expecting perfect but this just seems like a middle finger to viewers.
That may be the point. We built her up in our mind based for no reason other than our own desires.FUCK US, she doesn’t have to fit our personal preferences.
Diane is a civilian who breaks the rules.Though she is invited to be part of the group , she goes out of her way to separate herself. With assorted Fuck yous and smoking where not allowed
Her emotionless reaction to Hastings sudden and violent death is troubling and, yet, intriguing. What has she seen that makes this commonplace to her? How can she not even have a reaction of revulsion, let alone fear?
This is as far as I’m going.....does she know whats waiting on the other side?
I half expect her to shoot Albert before this is all over
Speaking of him, I am struck with an image of Albert walking into the Twin Peaks police station to find Andy and Lucy .Andy : IT’s ALBERT! Sheriff Truman ..Its ALBERT!ROSENFIELD!
Chad makes a disparaging comment to Andy and or about Lucy and Albert steps in his face and gives one of his fantastic speeches ,something about respecting kindness in an unkind world
Gordon: apologies in advance for Albert
In Las Vegas,Cooper wants his coffee and Phil uses it to lead the horse to coffee and the Boss. The Good Dale has exposed a ring of organized crime and police corruption.Hes revealed the Mitchums had a honest claim and will be receiving their 30 million payout. On top of that, the insurance company took out a policy on the Mitchums policy, so they get paid back and then some.
This was another fine example of how the Good Dales good luck of the Lodge seems to keep working in his favor for him and those around.
Meanwhile, the Mitchums have sent a car for "Dougie" with intentions of killing him for the troubles they think he has caused. They are unaware that they will receive the money owed them thanks to "Dougie" good work. Bradley Mitchum cant seem to shake a dream he had about Douglas Jones , a dream that he cant remember. As the two brothers get closer to the Good Dale, the memory of the dream starts to return piece by piece. Weighted with importance that if each sign in the dream comes true, Dougie must live.
As the Good Dale is taken to the car he sees MIKE,the one armed man at the adjacent Syzmons coffee shop, beckoning.
If MIKE can provide assistance or guidance to the Good Dale, why isn’t he doing something more that would speed up Coopers return? What is MIKE’s goal?
MIKE needs him alive. So he helped the Good Dale pick up the item that would save his life.I had a SE7EN moment when I saw the Good Dale with a large box in his hands while standing in the middle of the desert. .WHAT'S IN THE BOX?!?!?!

This item, for some reason, one of the Mitchum brothers had seen " Dougie" holding in a dream.Did the Lodge influence the dream in effort to assist with keeping the Good Dale alive?
Sure enough, it was as I expected,in the box was a pie.And not just any pie, a cherry pie.
While frisking "Dougie" for a possible weapon. They find their 30 million dollar check. The dream is fulfilled, the hit is off. They love this guy....so do we.Despite wanting Cooper to return, we love the Dougie life.
The Mitchum Brothers are becoming this seasons Horne brothers.
Later, at a restaurant with the Mitchum brothers, the upbeat song being played on the piano goes melancholy and the Good Dale seems to recall something. The music sounds a little like the the music from when Agent Cooper shared his first dance and kiss with Annie in season two as she decided her fate by choosing to enter the Miss Twin Peaks contest.Mixed with just a little bit of "Sycamore Trees"  ,the last song Cooper heard in the final episode of the second season.
The gambling junkie approaches the Good Dales table. She has turned her life around and is so happy to see Mr Jackpots who saved her life.Shes had a total makeover.Looks healthy.Even has her son back in her life. All thanks to the good luck of Mr Jackpots.Do you know how lucky you are to know him?
I am enjoying these payoff to scenes from many episodes ago. What could have been simply a silly scene and character played for laughs & mockery is turned into a sweet moment of recovery and thankfulness.
In the background ,Candy is clueless.....what the hell is her problem? She seems to be having memory problems. Not unlike the Good Dale. She may have a condition to a certain degree like "Dougies", but in the framework of this limited series,I am having trouble appreciating her reason for being a part of the show. Every moment spent watching her stare off into space is another moment stolen from our Peakers or Cooper.Ive grown tired of this space cadet. If there was a little more context to her changing behavior I might not be so disagreeable to watching it. After all, I have no trouble watching a spaced out Cooper .But at least with him, I am in hope that underneath it all he is fighting and struggling to return.
A character like Candie is clever and fun in an ongoing series, but when time is limited I just don’t want to spend time with this fool.
All this time spent with empty headed Candie worries me that she will be more to the story than I would hope. That they are building her up and giving her issues that could somehow translate into a story element. Is she on the Sparkle?

Ok, so where are we? Episode 11, 7 more to go.
  And still no Audrey.
I am a little surprised that she wasn’t made a larger focal point in the town. The character was a break out role and a significant element to the series in the original run till LFBoyle created a situation.Im a little surprised that Frost/Lynch didn’t try to rectify that in this go around. But then, Fenn may have burned a bridge or two over the years so shes only going to be in probably two episodes at this point. For what purpose ? Will we see her approach a returned Cooper in the Great Northern Hotel dining room?Visiting her father coincidentally on the same day that Cooper returns to the town and is having breakfast in the hotel.
NO Bad Dale in this episode. He's on the road to nowhere, or somewhere.
"Dougie" is in good standing with the Mitchums but now Anthony still is a threat on Duncan's orders to kill Mr Jones. And the Bad Dale may send Chantal and Hutch to kill "Dougie Jones",among others.
Cooper is no more closer to returning to his self. There are still triggers.More familiar ones to the original series. The "Damn Good Pie" trigger was fantastic to watch. Kyle MacLachlans acting in that moment is superb subtlety . The facial expression, tone of voice. Its a perfect Cooper moment. Its the closest yet we have to seeing the real Cooper emerge.
But these constant triggers still go nowhere. They never lead to another thought. The Good Dale never adds something to the trigger....finishes a sentence.Anything that lets us know he really is in there and fighting to return. No word spoken that is not a parrot of another person.

Will Cooper ever return and if so ever return to Twin Peaks?

As Cooper hopefully gets closer and closer to "waking up," or returning to Twin Peaks, the closer this season gets to the atmosphere and tone of the original seasons. The seemingly scattered subplots, aside from the few that are discrete, are threading into the main plot/mystery in the same way as they did in the original. This episode seemed to be a confirmation (though the town is obviously filled with much more evil and horror at the moment) something is amiss and that something is related to Cooper. I think Cooper will be back with 3 or 4 episodes remaining because they're going to need him to defeat or "battle" what Hawk wouldn't reveal.

What if the Cooper returns at the VERY end of the series, mirroring, no pun intended , Coopers head crushing end to season 2? after the Bad Dale is defeated by the Bookhouse Boys.
Jerry was a Bookhouse Boy. And he is currently lost in the woods. Will he be present near Jack Rabbits Palace to help? Could Cooper return as an honorary Bookhouse Boy to complete the circle?

I am still holding out hope that the final show ends with Cooper returning to inside the Lodge one last time to free Laura. To "Find Laura" and free her from the clutches of the Lodge where she has been tortured and trapped for the last 25 years. Finally showing her the Angel, after all this time. Ending on a visual that is like how Fire Walk With Me ended. Cut to the Roadhouse where Julee Cruise is seen singing "Falling".

Laura, is the ONE

Episode 10

Richard Horne continues to go off the charts in psychotic behavior.

WE knew this moment was coming. These two looked into each others eyes and neither liked what they saw.Richard tracks eye witness Miriam to her trailer home.(damn, teachers are not paid for worth shit in Twin Peaks)Shes already contacted the police and told them what she saw. But, unfortunately, she must have spoken to that no account Chad.Who promptly threw the complaint away and most likely informed Richard of the situation. However, diligent Miriam also wrote a letter directly to the sheriff.
There are shades of Theresa Banks in Richards violence towards Miriam.IS he part BOB?Could this be another indication to the possibility that the Bad Dale violated a comatose Audrey Horne and then she later gave birth to this abomination under the impression that it was John Justice Wheeler who was the father?Or does Richard belong to the absent Donna, who we learned in Season 2 was fathered by Benjamin Horne
Richard leaves Miriam’s broken and bloody body next to a open stove emitting gas.Lights a candle, closes the door and leaves. The gas may finish her off(shes is still breathing). But will the gas ignite ,since the front door has a hole in it for the gas to escape? Its still a small enclosed space so it could collect enough to go BOOM.
If her trailer does explode its likely to set fire to that pile of dried up kindling stacked near the trailer and work its way to the nearby forest.Potentially starting a forest fire in Twin Peaks. If this fire were to get out of control it could create trouble for Jerry and Sheriff Truman,Deputy Hawk and Bobby if they are in the woods at the time. My mind pictures them trapped between the fire and the place that’s 243 yards east of Jack Rabbits place. With the only choice but to go through 243.
Miriam’s trailer appears to be located near the same place we saw Deputy Andy speak to the man about his truck. The one who never showed at Sparkwood and 21 to meet Andy. Could it be possible that Andy reported his talking to the man and this information was obtained by or to Chad, who then informed Richard who took matters into his own hand?Seems likely.
Chad and Richard are not just drug dealing together. But into serious crimes of murder and coverup.Richard and Chad are connected enough that he can ask Chad to dispose of Miriam’s letter. Chad knows about the child’s death from working at the police station. And apparently could care less.Chad the cad just gets more irredeemable each episode.Something seriously stinks in here.Open a window

Off at the trailer park,Harry Dean Stanton is singing!"Red River Valley" is not on his album, but hopefully will be on the series soundtrack.Manager Carl Rodd still doesn’t like to be disturbed before 9:30-EVER!
Across the way we see a red coffee cup go through a window.Coffee couldn’t have been that bad? Did someone leave a frog moth in the percolator? Seems Becky and her asshole of a husband are having a domestic. Looks like choosing husbands like Leo Johnson doesn’t fall far from the Shelly tree. Becky's husband Steven seems to be having a withdrawal attack. If its sparkle, it sure does make one violent. And since they don’t have enough money to buy more drugs, his worthless jobless ass blames the one who actually has a job. He's just seconds away from punching her. It's a fucking nightmare.
Before the scene ends,Hes pissed off about her telling him to clean up around the place (typical married couple problem) and Steven accuses Becky of not being so innocent- I know exactly what you did...? Did she cheat on him?like Shelly did before on Leo) Did she do the last of the drugs?
More dots connecting. The trailer park and Carl to Becky and Steve are now connected to Shelly and Norma and Miriam ?who is now connected to Richard, the Horne’s and who knows who his Mommy might be
Violence between people is everywhere in this show. Intentional or accidental.Physical or Verbal.

In the next scene, played for laughs, one of the Vegas girls smacks the casino operator with a remote control in attempt to kill a fly.Clearly the young lady is a several bright colors short of a crayola box. This scene is classic Peaks. You know what the outcome will be the moment she walks into the room. And it just goes on and on until the final blow. It does communicate to us that the two characters are very focused on whats in front of them He's  deep in concentration on the casino surveillance logs in his lap.She is focused on the fly.

FINALLY!
"Dougie" is taken to a Doctor. The Doctor has discovers that his hearing, lungs, and blood pressure are in tip top shape. Janey-E is getting an eyeful of "Dougies" new body and you can just hear her saying "Helllloooooooooo!!"
And now the news.....The casino folks are connected to Ike. And THEY even had a hit out on The Spike.I'm guessing Ike had a gambling problem with the dice table. But uh oh....there is Mr Jackpots on the news. We knew this broadcast would connect Dougie to other sources. Now the Casino has his name.Naomi Watts performance in this scene is priceless.
Janey-E is flirting with her husband Dougie, while he is engrossed in his chocolate cake.

 Oh, Dougie. Indeed.
If Cooper never returns. At least he is in a good place.

The wind howls and so does Dr Jacoby. Another Wooly Bully rant.
Nadine is tuned into what the Doctor is prescribing. She has her own shop !! Run Silent, Run Drapes.

And in the window we see ,but do not hear, the drapes open and close in front of her  own Golden Shovel.
Is she still married to Big Ed?There are no personal photos on her desk. Are we meant to believe that she lives in the back of her store? Or does she just stay late to drink with the Doctor? Have you bought your shovel today?

Its the next morning and Janey-E is getting her boys off for the day. I wonder if this scene is setting up the Good Dale being forever in this situation. In a mental fog but with a whole new life.A good life for the Good Dale. A wife who loves and sincerely cares for him.A child that he missed out on having over the last 25 years.

Question...If a Jerry gets lost in the woods , can anyone hear him? Not until he gets a signal on his phone.Hope you have trail mix in your backpack, buddy, as its been something like three days.At least your foot has stop being disagreeable.

Ugh Chad, stay away from Lucy. You don’t deserve her kindness or her doughnuts. What are you doing up here? Obviously he is trying to get to the mail.Which he does manage to obtain Miriam;s letter.Well ...Miriam Hodges Letter. The name on the envelope doesn’t match the name for Miriam in the credits. Her last name in the credits is Sullivan.

Did Chad just steal the wrong envelope?. It’s only the day AFTER she posted the letter, could her letter have reached the station in less than a day? Or maybe she mailed it to Harry. A cad like Chad is suspicious to both Lucy and the Mailman, who eye his behavior with concern.

At Sylvia Horne’s home we find out that Johnny is alive, badly bruised, restrained but alive.Johnny seems lost in the world of his talking teddy bear that repeats the phrase "Hello Johnny. How are you today?" over and over throughout the scene
Unfortunately, nephew Richard is coming for a visit. He is not a welcome guest even at this secluded community. The man at the front gate informs Sylvia of the impending arrival.
Richard is immediately violent to Sylvia. He strangles his grandmother and threatens to sexually abuse Johnny. This is not the first time he has done this.Richard has however come to take more money than he has ever before, raiding Sylvia’s safe.Richard plans to leave town forever.Apparently Benjamin has cut Richard off as well.
This would be have been a fantastically dramatic moment for Audrey to walk in on. Even if she isn’t Richards mommy. We've been waiting to see her return and for her to arrive at this violent moment would have been shocking.
Wonder what would have happened if Johnny had broken free of his restraints.I imagine Johnny would easily take Richard and pound his head into a wall. What a gag that would have been after all this build up of this evil character to have him put down by Johnny.

In Las Vegas, Duncan learns about Ike and speaks with Anthony from the insurance company.Connect the dots to the casino. The Mitchum brothers. Duncan wants the insurance scams that cost the Mitchum’s 30 mill to have it all pinned on Douglas Jones.Anthony is to go to the casino and explain this is such a way that the Mitchum brothers will take care of the Dougie Jones problem. If it doesn’t work . Anthony will have to kill "Douglas Jones" himself. Duncan is trying to tie up loose ends and get Dougie out of the picture before the next call from the Bad Dale.

YES ALBERT AND the CORONER! SWEET! Just like Gordon and Tammy,  I would watch a whole series of these two together. So sad that Miquel Ferrer  has passed away. This could have been David Lynch and Mark Frost next "On The Air"

Anthony shows up at the casino later that evening.Hes not trusted or liked.Candie, the fly chaser from before, is like a new person.Shes unfocused and spaced out. Her simple task takes an unnatural amount of time.Every doughnut needs some filler of some kind. And this episode has its share of moments. She claims to be talking about the air conditioning.Anthony communicate the message. But the Mitchum boys don’t take this as expected. But it seems that they will be following though with an attempt to kill "Douglas Jones"

Back with the FBI, we are treated with DAVID LYNCH creating art!
A knock at the door and suddenly its Albert and Gordon ...and Laura?..oh, my.

We see an image of Laura Palmer crying. And the distorted sound of Laura's mom calling her name. Gordon appears to be the only one to have this vision and it quickly passes.Perhaps while in the meditative state of creating art, Gordon opened himself to receive a message ,of sorts. I am concerned about the moment in question. The footage appears to be from Fire Walk With Me ,where Laura has gone to Donna in tears. It appears reversed and zoomed in. This scene took place right after Laura was shown hiding in the bushes after she has seen BOB in her bedroom and then her Father walking out the front door of their home.In tears she repeats and desperately tries to convince herself that "No,No,No, it's not him it's not him!" .What could this mean about Albert and Gordon? Is something going to happen to Albert?Or is Albert going to do something to betray Gordons trust? Is it in this moment?

He has already caused a death by having communicated with Phillip Jeffries in the past behind Gordons back..Will he communicate with Jeffries again?Just how did Albert intercept this communication?Could he have been sent it originally and then forwarded it to Diane?
Albert has some secret information to share so its hearing aids turned down time..They got wind of the text Diane received AND the one she sent as a reply. It came in after Cooper escaped.Pinged off a tower in Philly. At first they thought it was one of Diane’s many suitors. But Tammy traced it from there to a server in Mexico. We have seem servers associated with the mysterious Phillip.
She had responded with a heavily encrypted message.

"They have Hastings , hes going to take them to the sight ."

Intriguing development. So it appears that in the next episode ,the FBI will be shown the place where they can enter.
Who did she send this text too?Phillip Jeffries or Gerard? Gordon had a feeling about this.Says he picked up on it when she hugged him. Had she never done that before? The hug was awkward for Gordon, he hesitated to put his arms around her. This also gives some explanation for that awkward scene between Diane,Gordon and Tammy outside the Buckhorn Morgue/Police Station.
Agent Preston enters with a piece of information. A photo from the penthouse murders involving the glass box. On an early data card there was found an image of the Bad Dale talking to bald man with glasses wearing a white, possible lab coat.Beverly's husband is a bald man we have seen before.

Benjamin receives a phone call at the Great Northern.Does he live here now?Sylvia and Benjamin have separated.Sylvia still wears her wedding ring.As does Benjamin.Have they not divorced officially...till now.Sylvia’s calling a lawyer since Benjamin shows more concern for the money and Johnny than Sylvia. Well, guess its time for dinner with Beverly

Hawk is having a fireside chat with The Log Lady via phone. The Log Lady looks directly at us the viewer.

"Electricity is humming. You hear it in the mountains and rivers. You see it dance among the seas and stars and glowing around the moon. But in these days, the glow is dying. What will be in the darkness that remains? The Truman brothers are both true men. They are your brothers. And the others, the good ones who have been with you.Now the circle is almost complete. Watch and listen to the dream of time and space. It all comes out now flowing like a river. That which is and is not. Hawk...
       Laura is the One."

She always was.

Truman brothers are TRUE MEN. And a TRUE MAN could enter the Lodge. The others? The Bookhouse Boys? Does this mean we will see Big Ed soon? More James?

The Roadhouse band tonight plays a song sounding like a classic Twin Peaks song. Not surprising , considering the song was written by David Lynch,John Neff and the beautiful singer from Mulholland Drive, Rebekah Del Rio. They could have her sing every night at The Roadhouse and I would be fine with that. A wonderful alternative to the fantastic Julee Cruise

"No Stars"
My dream is to go
To the place
You know the one
Where it all began
On a starry night
On a starry night
Where it all began

[Verse 2]
When we danced with the stars in our eyes
The night when it all began
When it all began

[Chorus]
You said hold me
Hold me, hold me
Don't be afraid
Don't be afraid
We're with the stars

[Verse 3]
I saw them in your eyes
En tus palabras
Y en tus besos, tus besos
Debajo de una noche
Na llena de estrellas

[Verse 4]
Under the starry night
Long ago
But now it's a dream

[Bridge]
Yo vi, en tus ojos
Yo vi, las estrellas
Pero ya no hay
Ya no hay
Estrellas
Pero ya no hay
Ya no hay
Estrellas
No stars
No stars
Ya no hay estrellas
No stars.

Her dress has the pattern of the Red Room floor. She sings a song of going back to the place where it all began. In this series we have seen or heard of many of those places:
The Bomb. The Meeting place. The Convenience Store.Twin Peaks. Laura.

The song carries a similar sound to Julee Cruise's "The World Spins"

Moving near the edge at night
Dust is dancing in the space
A dog and bird are far away
The sun comes up and down each day
Light and shadow change the walls
Halley's comet's come and gone
The things I touch are made of stone
Falling through this night alone

Love
Don't go away
Come back this way
Come back and stay
Forever and ever

Please stay

Dust is dancing in the space
A dog and bird are far away
The sun comes up and down each day
The river flows out to the sea

Love
Don't go away
Come back this way
Come back and stay
Forever and ever

The world spins.

Around the Dinner Table

So are you recovered from Episode 8 yet?

Two weeks after the art house episode 8 we return once more to Twin Peaks .This weeks episode is much more story driven. There almost seems to be a pattern from week to week. One episode is focused on story with the one that follows introducing the more nontraditional elements of Lynch visuals.

Episode 9

Lets play connect the dots.

This episode does a lot to bring characters closer together and show their connections to others.
We open on the Bad Dale walking a dirt road.He is caked in his own blood but surprisingly mobile for someone who was shot several times the night before.Apparently BOB removal does wonders for the soul AND the body.
He has places to be, people to kill so no time to waste. Odd thing to notice on his clothing.A Safety Pin?I think it stands out because it was not covered in blood like the shirt it was pinned too.Is this a costume error.Someone forgot to remove the pin that held the scene label for the clothes before filming? Its probably nothing, but its such an unusual item to be in such a prominent location on the actor that how could everyone miss it before the camera started to roll?
High up in the air, Gordon,Tammy,Albert & Diane are flying home to Philadelphia. I think it is interesting that, considering Dianes volatile verbal nature, both she and Albert were sleeping in seats across from each other.
Gordon receives a call from the Colonel . Informing him about Buckhorn,SD and the body of Major Briggs, where LT Knox is waiting for them at the Buckhorn Police Dept.Gordon’s selective hearing issue results in a minor misunderstanding in the name of the city.Cole informs Diane that they are going to make a slight detour.Fuck you,She just wants to go home. But when Gordon indicates it has something to do with an old case involving a man Agent Cooper once knew.A case that could be of interest to her? Diane guesses it has to do with the Blue Rose.So she has familiarity with what type of case is a Blue Rose would entail and its importance.Has she seen things herself?Could that be what her and Agent Coopers conversation involved on that last fateful night?Has she herself had an experience?
Diane takes a moment to check her phone. She appears to swipe her finger three times.Could it be that she is just denied access? Or is she going through emails or text messages? I'm not overly familiar with smart phones. On mine, I swipe left to delete a email and right to select a specific option. She quickly swipes left three times and then stops and we are shown her phones screen. It says BLOCKED.
Is this because she is on a FBI plane? Restricted access? No sharing of sensitive information. Her frustration is most likely due to the fact that for the past few days she has been removed from her life back home and just wants to connect. The block message serves the purpose of forcing her to check her messages at a later point in the story once off the plane.
So with a little more Dutch courage for the rest of the flight ,its Fuck you,Gordon ,we are going to Fuckhorn!

Connect the dots.
The FBI is now going to go to the body of Major Briggs.Which in turn connects them to William Hastings and the murder of Ruth Davenport. Which will also connects to Hastings wife who was involved in some way with the Bad Coop.Im sure the Bad Coop tried to work his way into her life as a way to extract information from her husband. But most importantly, it connects to the information that the Bad Dale sought.Which once discovered could lead the FBI to where the Bad Dale will be going to next. The FBI also now knows that Cooper ,flew the coop. The Bad Dale is on the loose
Meanwhile, down on the farm. The same farm that Ray wanted to go to once they escaped prison?Probable. As how would the Bad Dale know to go to this specific farm on foot? The owners are resting ,permanently, out back so its unlikely they were involved with this crew but this was a planned meeting place.
And on this farm we have a Hutch and a Chantel, married couple who were expecting the Bad Dale last night. The first time we saw Chantal, the Bad Dale told her she had to get her husband and wait for his coordinates he'd send her where he needed her and Hutch to be in a few days. The Bad Dale requests a proper gun and a couple of clean phones. As he likes to toss them frequently to prevent tracking.Chantel checks out one of the Bad Dales wounds. The only one he indicates though we know he was shot multiple times. This one looks to have gone clean through him.He was lucky.Even luckier that for some reason this married couple has a kit just for occasions like this

Later, the Bad Dale, cleaned up,has been provided with a convenience store temporary phone. On which he makes a odd lowercase text :

around the dinner table, conversation is lively.

What happens around a dinner table? People who know each other come together, plans are made.Bad Coop letting someone know that he is with his crew and they are talking intently about what is to be done next. The lively part being a dark joke as the conversation is about who is to die next.
Then the Bad Dale makes a phone call to Duncan in his office in Las Vegas.Duncan is asked if it is done.To which he replies "not yet". The Bad Coop informs him that it better be done the next time he calls. This clearly has to do with the attempted murder of Dougie. Which brings to question, why would the Bad Dale want Dougie dead? If Dougie was intended to be taken back to the Lodge in his place he would need him alive. The intended assassination came after the Bad Dale had his Lodge experience on the road. Could the Bad Dale sense that the Good Dale is now on this side? And since only one of them can live outside ,the Good Dale has to die. But the Bad Dale is cautious of getting near the Good Dale as who knows what Lodge magic this might disrupt. So someone else has to do the deed.

Connect the Dots.

We now have a direct connection between Duncan and the Bad Dale.Duncan to Ike the Spike, to the office worker who farmed out the hit to the bad cops. And now to Dougie Jones.
Hutch does good work. He's got new weapons for The Bad Dale who then instructs him to kill the Warden. Hutch asks if is should be quick or can Chantel make him sing. The Bad Dale doesn’t care, just kill him Hutch likes to share.Especially his wife.
The Bad Dale also has a "Double Header" for him in Las Vegas. Details to come. This could mean many people in Las Vegas. Could he mean the office worker and Dougie. This was a double header that hadn’t occurred according to the Duncan call.He couldn’t know that the woman was dead. Could it mean Dougie and Janey-E? Why would he be interested in killing Janey-E? Could it be Ike and Dougie? Ike is a connection to him and the Bad Dale might not want to leave any loose ends. Could it be Duncan and Ike?Duncan and Dougie?Someones going to have a bad day.
After Chantel’s kiss with the Bad Dale she gives him one of her favorite treats, a bag of cheese snacks. Manufactured Garmonbozia? The kind you would find in a second hand.....I mean a convenience store?
Now at the police station in Las Vegas we find the Good Coop and Janey-E waiting patiently outside the office of the three Fusco detectives. "Dougies" boss,Bushnell, is being questioned. His body language calls back to Fire Walk With Me and Lil. One hand in pocket ,the other in a fist. Hiding something, and belligerent. Is this the cops or "Dougies " boss? But I think its more to do with the "damn strange business of first his car blows up and then someone tries to kill him" I think in this moment Bushnell connects dots of his own and believes it to be "Dougies" coworker who has been trying to kill "Dougie" .Especially with the recent false insurance claims that "Dougie" has brought to light.

Connect the dots.

"Dougie" had a car accident 12 years ago before coming to work at the insurance company and every once and awhile he has episodes like we have been witnessing.Explaining why everyone is so used to this behavior.Twelve years of this happening on and off around the people he knows would create this level of familiarity.12 years to meet his wife and have a child. But its likely that this was not a car accident.Rather,He was hit by the Lodge. This is the moment when he came into existence. Who really manufactured him? Was it the Bad Dale? Or could it have been someone else? Perhaps the ??????? ? Major Briggs?
Whomever manufactured the body, they failed to create documents. Drivers license, passport, social, birth certificate, class or taxes records.Nothing prior to 1997. The three detectives theorize :witness protection
The cops go to talk to "Dougie". Its like talking to a dog but Janey-E does all the barking.Love Janey-E. They take his coffee cup with intention of using the fingerprints and DNA to identify.Entering The Good Dales fingerprints and DNA into a search data base will ring the cherries with the FBI. This could send Gordon and the gang in the Las Vegas direction.Connecting them even closer to the Good Dale. The FBI is aware of the name Dougie Jones thanks to the wedding ring .Poor Diane, she's never going to get home.
If this does occur, what will Diane see if presented with the Good Dale in his current mental condition. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Diane is the one who brings Cooper out of his mental fog?
The Good Dale connects with the American Flag.He hears America the Beautiful. Like a stack of mash potatoes, this means something to him.. A secretary in red heals walks in front of him.Catching his eye.Her outfit and shoes give off a Audrey Horne feel from the pilot, light top, dark skirt, red shoes. Is she coming back soon?Diane is also wearing red shoes in this episode. Might the way the secretary is dressed recall Diane for him more than Audrey considering the ladys secretarial role at the moment. Especially following his hearing the "America the Beautiful" music in his head. He's not thinking about Twin Peaks, he's recalling the core of his  being. That part of him that made him want to be an FBI agent in the first place."Dougies" wife is wearing red flats as well. The Good Dale takes note of an electrical outlet. Memories without context for him.
At the Twin Peaks sheriffs station we have a odd, but oddly sweet moment between Andy and Lucy.Few things I take away form this. 1) This is a peak into their home life, they really love each other 2) I think something happened to Lucy, maybe as a result of the birth of their child. And she has been mentally off even more so than in the original series, early onset dementia? With ever loyal and loving Andy by her side.3) They might have a shopping problem We've seen Andy with an expensive watch on.And now, at work they are shopping online?Twin Peaks police can't pay that well, if Sheriff Truman and his wife have arguments over spending.
We next visit the Horne family. A less happy home if there ever was one.Someone or something has let Johnny Horne out of his room and he is running around the house. Moments before he runs into a wall there is a FLASH of white light, possibly from a broken lamp.Though, no lamp is seen near the body on the floor.Johnny is still breathing.
What if this head conk makes Johnny revert back to his actual mental age again? Twining what the return of the Good Dale from his slow mental state.Johnny was revealed as having been pushed down the stairs by Audrey in a deleted scene from the original series. His dramatic return to a normal mental state for his age would certainly be reason enough to bring Audrey home.AMEN!
Benjamin and Beverly share an similar home life connection. Both have a loved one who is in need of special care at home.
Johnny’s head injury twins what happened to Benjamin at the end of Season 2.But what if his head injury results in death?A funeral would bring Audrey home to the family.
Would her return reveal that Richard is Audrey's son? Could it have been Richard who let Johnny out?The violent tendencies of Bad Dale and Richard Horne.(see how they both restrain women) Did Cooper actually rape a comatose Audrey and get her pregnant in the process?Audrey thinking all these years that it was John Justice Wheeler's kid.
Random thought:What if we were to discover that Richard is Donna's child? There is a visual cue that makes a connection with Donna: How they both hold their cigarettes. And the type of cigarette as well (thin). In the end of season 2 it is revealed that Donna is actually Benjamin Hornes child.Maybe Richard, in an act of defiance against his mother goes by his blood name and not the family name of Hayward. There is no mention of what has happened to Donna over the last 25 years. Her characters exclusion is most likely due to the troubles that L.F.Boyle caused while on set and her refusal to take part in FWWM. By tainting her characters history by connecting it directly to this awful person, shows its just another reason not to piss off your bosses. Ala the Evolution of the Arm.

BETTY BRIGGS!!

Bobby,Hawk and the Sheriff stop by to see Mrs Briggs. Before they can finish the sentence she stops them and tells them a story about the day before Garland died. How he spoke of this meeting happening. And when they come, to give them something.
I LOVE this moment. You can tell that she is feeling the importance of her husbands words and work in this moment. That she senses the big picture of his actions and subsequent "death".I so want to hug this woman in this moment.
Betty speaks to Bobby. How he was a long way from where he is now.How her husband Garland saw this life for him."You Father never lost faith in you".What a wonderful thing for a son to hear so many years after his death. That a dream he had for his son came true. That he,Bobby, didn’t let his Father down after all. This is a fantastic call back to that Double R conversation between the Major and Bobby in season 2 of the original series.
Back at Buckhorne, Gordan and the gang have arrived at THE FUCKING MORGUE. Diane lights up and has no interest in seeing a dead body this morning. Why would they invite her anyway? She takes a few curious glances in the direction they went before taking out her phone.Impatiently she turns it on and begins looking though messages. One of them contains the same message we saw the Bad Dale enter into his phone and send. The contact is unknown. Curious, this time the message is in complete capital letters ,where as before it was lower case. Could it have been sent through a service that retyped it in all caps? Could someone else have received the original message and then sent it to her from a different phone? Her final reaction doesn’t give much away. Shes thinking about something. What does this mean? who is this from? Could the original message been sent to Phillip and he sent it to her?Fuck you ,text!
The Buckhorn detective fills them in on what has happened. The discovery of Briggs body, sans head along with Ruth Davenports head. The arrest of William Hastings who was having an affair with Ruth. The death of Hastings wife and arrest of his lawyer for hte crime. The subsequent death by car explosion of Hastings secretary.Though since we have not seen this, how can we be sure it was the secretary in the car at the time.

What happens in season 2 ?
Good question Albert. If only we got a season two

I am shipping Albert and the Coroner. If only we cold have a spin off with the two of them. When did he lose his marbles?
Its revealed that Hastings and Ruth worked together on a website/blog about alternate dimensions. And bless the creators, there is an actual website :http://thesearchforthezone.com/

Its straight out of the 90's. Several links take you to Rhino records an the upcoming release of Twin Peaks soundtracks.Meta. Several connect to articles.
If you hover the mouse over a secret spot near the bottom of the page, just above the trees, it reveals a series of Coordinates ....clicking on them takes you to distorted footage of the convenience store .The address is in western South Dakota

The final message posted on the blog is :

Today we finally entered what we call the zone and we met the Major

Connect the dots

.The age of the body is discussed. Its too young to be the Majors at what would be his current age,72, in this year.It would match the age of a body from 25 years ago, when he probably died in a fire in the government facility outside of Twin Peaks. Cooper knew Briggs.Briggs was last seen with Cooper 25 years ago.Cooper has flown the coop.
          The Coroner shows the ring : to Dougie,Love Janey-E .Dot....to dot...to dot
Back in Twin Peaks, poor Jerry, still lost in the woods, has perhaps done some really bad drugs and is now in a battle with "not his foot" foot..Has he been messing with Red's Sparkle? Or is he growing his stuff to close to the Lodge? Was that the sycamore trees of Glastonbury Grove in the background when he lost the battle with his non foot?
There is no sex in the champagne room and no eating in the conference room Chad. How many time do we have to discuss this? I enjoyed how Hawk didn’t make any eager move to help Chad with the door and how Sheriff Truman’s first response after Chad left was to have window opened.Chad stinks,in more ways then one.
At the sheriffs station the boys look into the object from Major Briggs chair.Bobby knows how to open the item. His Father showed him once. The first toss onto the concrete creates a sound that ends in a click.Does the tone of the device match the tone we hear later in the Great Northern?
The second toss opens the device.

Inside are two slips of paper: 252 yards east from Jack Rabbits Palace. Before leaving place some soil from that area. in your pockets. Two dates :10/1 and 10/2 with a time 2:53 .The familiar filled in "owl" image.Planet signs.Jupiter and Saturn meet,it will open.
253 continues to echo through the show. Walk 252 yard, because at the 253 you will cross over into the other side.
The Sheriff says :Two days from now. making today in Twin Peaks 9/29

Bobby is hit in the heart by the name Jack Rabbits Palace(and they said it wasn't about the bunny?!!). Major Briggs faith in Bobby turning out good was so strong that he left a message that only Bobby could help decipher. Both Sheriff Truman and Hawk had never heard of this place because it was something that only Bobby and his Father knew. Bobby named it.It was there make-believe world.Major Briggs saw this future and knew that Bobby would be here to help.

Bobby:That’s my Dad.

Such a wonderful tribute to the character of Major Garland Briggs. To the relationship to his son.To the dream he shared. I love how this character that couldn’t return to the series because of the passing of the actor Don Davis has been made such an integral and emotional part of the season.
The second slip of paper is very familiar to Peaks viewers. It is a portion of the received communication Major Briggs shared with Agent Cooper. The one where Cooper name appeared multiple times within the numbers. Here it is shown twice with the third cut off. Two Coopers, with a third not a partial Cooper. Good Dale,Bad Dale ,Manufactured Dougie. In the original series, I seem to recall that the word Cooper, appears four times on the paper.Three mentioned by Major Briggs, the fourth seen under the his hand.
Did you notice what looks like the old smokestack from the original opening credits across the street from the Sheriffs Station?
Diane,Tammy and Gordon share a smoke and a awkward moment.Test of wills, and Gordon gives in to the call of the cigarette. We learn that they used to share a smoke back in the day. It's a nice little moment that reminds us how these characters related to each other before all the bad happened.
William Hastins has a lot to cry about and he cries a lot. Tammy conducts the interview. Why is Diane watching this? Shes not with the FBI?
Hastings discussed different things on his blog.Different dimensions.Ruth Davenport was good at uncovering hidden records (Did she discover the Secret History Dossier?)and she discovered: Certain place at a certain time you would enter the dimension and make contact with a certain person.
There they found the Major.Hiding there or hibernating as he said so people couldn’t find him.He wanted to go to a different place. So he requested information, important numbers, coordinates. They would be found in a secured military database that the Major instructed them where to look.Ruth had the numbers on her hand, obtained the last Thursday. Then something terrible happened. These others came in and pushed him to the floor demanding to know what his wife’s name was. Where was he when this happened?
Tammy then asks William to identify the Major from a series of 6 photos.Sign, circle and date the one that is correct. The date he writes looks as if  it is 9/20. Connect the Dots. But close examination of the photo one can make out the tail of the nine along the lines of the photo next to Mr Briggs. And in Williams mumbling, he does sound like he is saying nine twenty nine.
Its an interesting detail..Is it intentional or just a case of penmanship?
If the events of Buckhorn,Gordon and the Bad Dale are taking place days before the events in Twin Peaks. Its 9/20 here , 9/29 in Twin Peaks . This explains how the Great Northern hotel key was able to get to Twin Peaks by the next episode.Maybe the key arriving at the Great Northern occurs days later and the two storylines inch closer to the same day with each episode If he has written 9/29, and the tail is not just an accident of his writing while in a agitated state then at least these two events are occurring on the same day.
When Coop was about to exit from nonexistence and American Girl's watch alarm went off at 2:53, the date was 10/1, one of the same days that Major Briggs left on his note.Does this mean that when Cooper was tricked, and now he wont appear at that time and place because he is now in the place of "Dougie"? What time is the Good Coop in?
So they were able to give Major Briggs the numbers. How could they meet Briggs, obtain the numbers, and then return to Briggs if to enter you had to be at a certain time and place. Is it just a certain time and not a date? Or was Ruth able to obtain the information using a computer on the spot?
Why would the Bad Dale want these numbers?
Major Briggs started to float up.He spoke "Cooper,Cooper" and then his head disappeared. Was this the Major entering the Lodge only to have the door closed on him before he could completely cross over? Severing his head.Which is the only part of him we saw later within the Lodge.
Did he float up like the Woodsman in the jail cell?
Hastings then describes what he believed to be a dream.Ruth is dead. There were so many people there.Woodsmen?
He held her.And then he woke up and he was in his home.
William Hastings is having a bad day.He swore up and down that he didn’t kill Ruth. He loved her. They were going to go to the Bahamas! All he wanted to do was go Scooby-diving.(yeah, I said it)
Round of applause to Mr Matthew Lilliard for his performance in this scene.Having to maintain an emotional state of distress while doing a major(no pun intended) info dump.

Evening at the Great Northern, and the sound is still in the air. No new discoveries despite security searching.Interesting that Benjamin is still at work this late considering his son has seriously hurt himself earlier that day. Very interesting that Mr Horne doesn’t follow through on the advances of Beverly. is he really a "good man" after all these years? He doesn’t know why
At the Roadhouse , two worn out and drunk young ladies Ella and Chloe are having a conversation over drinks.
One has recently lost her job serving burgers only to get the same job across the street. She has a serious rash. From the effects of the new drug Sparkle? She scratches her rash several times. These are the hands that serve your food in Twin Peaks. Could this cause an epidemic in the town among the high-schoolers that leads to a drug connection ?
They talk of a Zebra and a Penquin. Both animals are black and white
"Do you know that Zebras out again?" Is this a reference to someone who sells drugs being out of product or an old boyfriend out of jail(striped prison pajamas)? Penquin?A suit?business man? another connection to drugs?

Who are these two and why now are we meeting them?
Is it future, or is it past?
Tune in next week, Same OWL time, Same OWL channel.
